Dear Sound Shore Resident,

For more than 300 years, Westchester County has offered its residents a wonderful quality of life, its children an outstanding education, and its businesses an environment in which to excel. Competent, responsive, and accountable government has been a reliable partner in helping make Westchester a truly special place to live, study, or work. But all that is now in danger of being lost  to the past.

My 10 Commitments to the Sound Shore Area

1. I will work to restore fiscal discipline to the Westchester County.
2. I will propose a 10% reduction in Westchester County's property taxes over two years.
3. I will introduce legislation to require Westchester County to provide annual ratings on the     effectiveness of its major programs.
4. I will place greater emphasis on investing in education, infrastructure, conservation, and         flood risk mitigation that provide long-term recurring benefits.
5. I will work with industrial development agencies (IDAs) and local development                     corporations (LDCs) to promote and sustain economic development.
6. I will introduce legislation that bars companies that fail audits from participating in any           capacity in tax assessment and revaluation throughout Westchester County.
7. I will introduce risk assessment and scenario planning to Westchester County's legislative      process.
8. I will work with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to upgrade railway           crossings so as to permit modern fire equipment to cross those bridges.

9. I will build partnerships with local elected and community leaders to foster an integrated approach to Countywide                     development and planning.
10. I will leverage partnerships with local elected officials and community leaders to help the Sound Shore area and                       Westchester County obtain increased funding and a reduce burden of unfunded mandates from New York State and the          Federal Government.
